Lie on your back while looking straight up at the ceiling. Close your eyes and make your body symmetrical: position the left and right sides of your body the same. Relax your jaw and every point of tension in your head. Let your body feel very heavy, as if your body is dead weight. If it helps, progressively tighten then relax one muscle group after another. Start with your feet, then calves, hips, etc., as you tighten then relax each muscle group in your body. Below is a more detailed explanation of this simple exercise. What do you want to experience there
Progressive Relaxation If you feel restless in the corpse pose, perhaps your back needs a minor adjustment. Try the progressive relaxation of each muscle group. Begin with your feet. Tighten the feet for about seven seconds, then relax. Tighten each of the following muscle groups for about seven seconds, then relax and move onto the next group: knees (bend knees to chest, relax and straighten); hips (press your buttocks together); hands (make a fist, palm facing up); shoulders (press up to the ears and the ground); and the neck (bring your chin to your chest). Avoid holding your breath when you tighten your muscles, as holding your breath encourages daydreaming and stops the flow of energy. After progressive relaxation, you may find that you can concentrate for longer periods of time at the third eye. If you still cannot concentrate, try belly breathing using a deep breath. Do whatever you need to rest in a centered, awakened state at the third eye. The future is clear for those who can see the signs.
The Game The Universe continuously fascinates our minds with new illusions. Each illusion seems to be the most important thing in the world—until a new one comes along. What can be known—for certain— Mystics see through this game of temporal fascinations. They see beyond the astral (lower emotions) and ever-changing mental phenomenon. They see the temporary nature of “reality.” They may consciously decide to play the game, but they keep their attention on higher ideals. Like the proverbial lotus, their roots dig deep into the mud below the waterline, while their petals stretch up to the sun. Heaven and Earth harmonize—at least within themselves.
Pleasure Becomes Bliss Falling asleep can be very pleasurable if you are at peace with your Self. A warmth will spread through your body as your spirit rises in love (kundalini energy ascends to the heart chakra). The joy of the experience challenges the inner astronaut to consciously move energy upwards (to the throat chakra) or to fall back into unconsciousness (of the lower chakras). If you can remain relaxed, centered, and conscious in the “unbearable lightness of being” of the higher chakras, then light will burst forth as the third eye opens. Pleasure becomes bliss. |
